Author Visits

Top

I love to visit book clubs (in person or virtual!). I'm also available for keynotes, author Q&As, book signings, and school visits. I especially love chatting with LGBT+ teen book clubs (and those visits are free :)

My YA books include The Bone Spindle trilogy and The Siren's Kiss, as well as the upcoming graphic novel The Princess and the Outlaw. My books are always set in queer-normalized worlds where anyone can be a hero and include a variety of themes: friendship, LGBTQ acceptance, and the joy of being unafraid to be yourself!

My MG books The Labyrinth of Souls and the sequel The Nowhere Beast have themes of friendship, compassion, learning to love ourselves for our differences, kindness to all creatures, understanding our emotions, and LGBTQ acceptance. These books are also set in a queer-normalized fantasy world.

School / Classroom Visits

The Labyrinth of Souls presentation: Who can become an author? (Anyone!)

In this presentation, I talk about what you need to become an author (practice and hard work!), including sharing a marked-up page of my work to show how we all need editing to improve. And also why each student has a story only they can tell! I touch on the feelings that I put into these books, how I struggled with my anxiety, and how writing helped me find confidence to tell my stories.

I offer:
Labyrinth of Souls 1-hour school / classroom presentation (with book signing time :)
1-hour book clubs / author Q&A

Please contact me for pricing. I do visits primarily in and around the Boulder / Denver area and virtually. Presentations can be customized, and I'm always happy to work with teachers!

Please contact me at leslievedderwrites [at] gmail.com to discuss visits.
